Whether you are looking for lessons for yourself or your child, Keynote Instruction offers one-on-one instruction: online, in-studio or hybrid (both in-studio and online) lessons. Which lesson type best fits your needs? Below is a comparison of private lesson options, which we hope will better equip you to decide which is best for you and/or your family.

In-Studio Lessons

advantages:

  • Face-to-face, in person lessons using time-tested, traditional methods

  • Learn to play in a studio equipped with a Yamaha grand piano and a high quality digital piano

  • More opportunity for duets and movement activities

  • Access to music lending library

  • Socially distant lessons will be outside with a digital instrument

Online Lessons 

Advantages:

  • Less commute time / traffic

  • More time for family, other obligations (and practice)

  • More playing time, with teacher and student each at their own instrument

  • Teacher observes student playing on their own instrument

  • Less transition time between lessons (No unpacking books, removing shoes and coats, adjusting the bench, etc.)

  • Students learn to collaborate online and succeed in a variety of educational settings

  • Small group piano lessons also available - learn online with a friend (or two) that live nearby or even across the country!

Blended Lessons

All the advantages of online lessons plus:

  • In-studio lessons allow for interaction with the teacher and hands-on materials such as games, apps and other instruments

  • Students learn to succeed in a variety of educational settings

  • Technical (piano-playing) issues can be more easily addressed and corrected

  • Playing duets with teacher builds strong counting and rhythm skills
