About
Valerie Bates, nctm | pianist & instructor
Life is complicated. Piano lessons shouldn’t be.
Music has been a part of life for centuries, but the choices we now face in how to learn an instrument can be daunting. Apps? Free lessons? Online? You Tube? Private or group lessons? What about the instrument? Acoustic or digital piano? Keyboard? Hybrid? (the piano, not the car...)
There are so many excellent tools available to learn piano. This can be overwhelming and cause anyone to become stuck even before getting started. I can help you navigate these choices with tailored instruction that matches your learning style and individual goals.
As a nationally certified piano teacher, you can be confident that I have demonstrated my knowledge, teaching, and performance skills at the piano -but most of all, I like to keep piano lessons fun!
The best results come from teamwork between students, families and instructors. Technology should enhance, but definitely not replace quality teaching. As we collaborate to reach the same goals, each success magnifies the joy that comes from making music.
Because creating music is what matters.
